About This Role

Are you an enthusiastic and innovative educator with a strong dedication to teaching Physics? The British International School, Cairo is looking for you!

We are on the hunt for a qualified and experienced Physics teacher who has a solid background in the National Curriculum for England or a British-style educational environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Physics throughout the Senior School, including GCSE and IB, along with General Science in Key Stage 3. Familiarity with IB teaching is a plus. Our school boasts excellent resources and facilities for Science education. The Science Department collaborates effectively, sharing ideas and fostering a culture of learning.

Person Specification
- A graduate in Physics or a related field, holding Qualified Teacher Status and at least three years of post-QTS teaching experience.
- An enthusiastic and creative teacher who is passionate about education, capable of motivating and inspiring students through diverse teaching methods.
- Recent experience in teaching Physics within the National Curriculum for England, including (I)GCSE, A level, or IB.
- Integrates assessment for learning as a core component of classroom activities.
- Understands how to challenge high-achieving students while providing support for those needing extra assistance.
- Works well as a collaborative team member.
- Committed to ongoing professional development.
- Enjoys engaging in co-curricular activities.
- Fully meets the school’s safeguarding standards.

All faculty members are expected to actively participate in co-curricular activities, school events, and trips. In accordance with Egyptian employment laws, applicants must possess QTS and a minimum of three years of post-qualification teaching experience.

Remuneration
The British International School, Cairo (BISC) provides a competitive, tax-free salary, paid in full in Pound Sterling and deposited directly into a UK bank account. Additionally, expatriate teachers receive a generous housing allowance, private BUPA Gold medical insurance covering family dependents, annual return flights to the UK, and two complimentary places for school-age children. Remarkably, our staff receives their entire salary in foreign currency (GBP), and the low cost of living allows staff to save substantially while maintaining a high quality of life.
