About This Role
Here at Rimu School we are looking to welcome a new team member to our kura to teach in our senior classroom from Term 3 2026.
We are looking for a teacher who is committed to high-quality teaching and learning, maintains a high professional standard and is responsive to learning and sustainable change. Someone who has some practical experience of structured literacy (we use iDeal) or is prepared to undertake and be involved in professional development in this area.
Positive relationships are key here at Rimu, so the ability to build strong learning relationships with students is essential. We value our people, have high professional trust and are proud of the learning environments and supportive culture we create.

The Role
Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 20/07/2026, End Date: 10/12/2027 (Maternity leave)
Key Responsibilities
- Teach primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) subjects including English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, and The arts.
Qualifications
- New Zealand registered teacher with a current practising certificate.
- Experience or willingness to engage in structured literacy professional development.
