About This Role

Napier Kindergarten Association is seeking a passionate and dedicated certificated kaiako to join our teaching team, working across both Wairoa and North Clyde Kindergartens.

About the role


As a kaiako working across both kindergartens, you will play an important role in supporting tamariki to learn and grow through high-quality, play-based education aligned with Te Whāriki.


You will help maintain and promote excellent early childhood education that is accessible to all, meeting the needs of tamariki, whānau, and the wider Wairoa community in accordance with licensing criteria and association policies, procedures, and guidelines.


This role requires a passionate educator who upholds high professional standards and enjoys working collaboratively across teaching teams.


Key responsibilities



  • Provide high-quality education and care for tamariki aged 2–5 years.

  • Develop and implement engaging, play-based learning programmes aligned with Te Whāriki.

  • Build strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the wider community.

  • Work collaboratively across both teaching teams to support children’s learning and wellbeing.

  • Contribute to safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environments.


What we’re looking for



  • A fully certificated and ECE qualified teacher.
    • A strong understanding of child development and responsive teaching practice.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • A passion for early childhood education and positive outcomes for tamariki.
    • Flexibility and willingness to work across two kindergarten settings.
    • Eligibility to work in Aotearoa New Zealand.
