We are currently in search of an enthusiastic and talented Design and Technology teacher to join our respected secondary department.

The ideal candidate will teach a range of age groups and abilities, including GCSE and A-Level, and will have a proven track record of achieving excellent results.

This role is part of our strategic growth plan to meet the increasing student enrollment and demand for programs.

General Professional Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a teacher will include the following tasks:

- Planning and delivering lessons, which involves preparing courses, assigning and grading work, and assessing, recording, and reporting on student development, progress, and achievements in line with the school's policies and standards.

- Using data to inform classroom instruction, monitoring student progress, and implementing timely interventions as required.

- Preparing students for public examinations, assessing their readiness, recording and reporting assessments, and participating in meetings related to the management of public examinations.

- Engaging with parents through consultations, including writing reports.

- Participating in Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.

- Maintaining discipline and order within the classroom.

- Attending departmental meetings and Open Evenings.

- Collaborating with colleagues to shape departmental policy, implement curricular initiatives, and develop programs of study and assessment methods.

- Assisting with administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

- Staying updated on curriculum innovations, participating in CPD opportunities, and contributing to personal professional growth.

- Collaborating with support teachers in the classroom.

- Taking on responsibilities for monitoring and supporting new teachers when necessary.

- Assigning work for classes during anticipated absences and providing assignments for absent colleagues as needed.

- Leading a specific area of the curriculum, administration, curriculum innovation, or special projects.

- Performing additional tasks as reasonably assigned by the Head of Department.

- Familiarizing oneself with the DSIB inspection framework and the standards for outstanding teaching and learning in the UAE.

- Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.

Candidate Profile

To qualify for this position, applicants must:

- Hold relevant qualifications.

- Have experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, particularly with IGCSE and A-Level.

- Demonstrate a genuine passion for the subject and the capacity to motivate students.

- Possess knowledge of assessment and examination protocols for KS3, KS4, and KS5.

- Be an exceptional educator capable of showcasing outstanding teaching practices and fostering student progress.

- Work effectively in a team environment.

- Remain informed about advancements in their subject area.

- Show a commitment to professional development, actively seeking further training opportunities within or outside the department to enhance their career.
