POSITION: SECONDARY PHYSICS TEACHER

CAMPUS: 64 (BANGKOK, THAILAND)

START DATE: JUNE/JULY 2026

Job Overview

The Secondary Physics Teacher will deliver high-quality Physics instruction to secondary students, including IGCSE and A Level classes, fostering curiosity, scientific thinking, and academic excellence. The role requires strong subject knowledge, effective practical teaching, and the ability to support students in developing conceptual understanding, investigative skills, and examination readiness.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Science Education, or a related field, together with a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent. A minimum of three years’ experience teaching Physics, preferably within a Cambridge or international curriculum context, is required. Strong knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Physics curriculum is essential. Understanding of, and experience in applying, Singapore-influenced approaches to science teaching—particularly in developing conceptual clarity, structured problem-solving, and inquiry skills—is considered an advantage. The role requires native-level fluency in English, with strong professional communication skills, and a reflective, student-centred approach to teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Physics to Secondary students, including Cambridge IGCSE and A Level classes

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with Cambridge curriculum requirements

  • Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments and external examinations, with emphasis on conceptual understanding, practical skills, and scientific enquiry

  • Apply inquiry-based and structured teaching approaches, including Singapore-influenced pedagogical practices where appropriate

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback

  • Maintain a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and experimentation

  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and laboratory management

  • Support co-curricular STEM activities and school-wide academic initiatives

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Science department

Remuneration

A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The package includes a housing allowance and a return air ticket upon completion of contract for overseas applicants.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Science Education, or a related field

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

  • Minimum of three years’ teaching experience in Secondary Physics

  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or A Level Physics

  • Strong understanding of Cambridge assessment objectives and teaching methodologies

  • Understanding of, and experience in applying, Singapore-influenced approaches to science teaching is an advantage

  • Experience working in an international school environment

  • Native-level fluency in English, with strong professional communication skills

  • Excellent classroom management, organisational, and interpersonal skills
