About This Role
1- Utilize a variety of inquiry techniques, including open, structured, and guided methods, to ignite students' curiosity and empower them with the skills to develop their own understanding, fostering independence as lifelong learners.
2- Teach conceptual knowledge that spans across different subjects to aid students in comprehending intricate and overarching concepts. Carefully craft questions, explorations, and provocations to deepen conceptual understanding while connecting content, skills, and ideas.
3- Create authentic learning experiences that allow students to integrate new knowledge by linking it to their personal experiences within their local context and the wider world, thereby nurturing global awareness.
4- Collaborate purposefully and continuously with peers to develop interactive and collaborative learning experiences that encourage effective dialogue and constructive feedback, utilizing data insights to proactively meet students' needs.
5- Partner with colleagues to plan for the diverse needs of students by enhancing self-esteem, valuing prior knowledge, providing scaffolding, and enriching the learning experiences of all students with meaningful, respectful, and challenging tasks.
6- Thoughtfully plan, organize, and implement ongoing assessments in collaboration with students and colleagues to monitor, document, measure, and report on learning progress. Use insights from “Assessment as and for Learning” to refine and adapt teaching strategies.
7- Focus on developing approaches to learning skills by clearly identifying the specific skills and dispositions targeted for instruction. Explicitly communicate the strategies and techniques that learners utilize to process information, promoting the transfer of these skills and self-regulation.
8- Integrate technology effectively to enhance students' learning experiences. Regularly reflect on the reasons for using technology and uphold digital integrity.
9- Promote and support students’ language development by activating prior knowledge and building foundational understanding, providing support for language acquisition, expanding language use, and affirming their identities.
10- Plan to empower students to internalize principles of sustainability and navigate complex systems, enabling them to take initiative or advocate for actions that restore and maintain ecosystem health while fostering equity and envisioning a sustainable future.
11- Actively participate in professional inquiry activities (such as PLCs, action research, workshops, study groups, collaborative partnerships, and data teams) with the intention of consistently reflecting on practices to improve learning outcomes for all students.
12- Reflect on personal beliefs regarding professional responsibilities to operate with integrity and transparency, build connections and foster learning communities, and honor as well as promote organizational, local, and global cultures.
