About This Role

Taaleem is committed to prioritizing the safety and welfare of children, adhering to rigorous child protection practices, and safeguarding their well-being. We expect all staff members to share this dedication. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a series of background checks, including reference validation, verification of relevant qualifications, identity checks, and police clearances, which may encompass international checks.

Recruiting – French Teacher

We are looking for an outstanding French teacher who can effectively teach GCSE and A Level students, crafting lessons that foster language skills, cultural appreciation, and proficient communication in French. Your responsibilities will include guiding students to express themselves, read, write, and respond accurately and fluently, using a broad vocabulary, real-life contexts, and strong grammatical structures. We are in search of an educator with a successful track record of driving impressive results, inspiring students to tackle intellectual challenges, engage with Francophone culture, and communicate with increased autonomy. Key qualities necessary for this role include fostering curiosity, creativity, and high expectations, coupled with a commitment to ensuring every student progresses to high levels of language proficiency.

At DBSEH, you will join a school celebrated for its academic ambitions, nurturing and inclusive environment, and dedication to understanding each student as an individual. With overall results for 2025 showing 51% A–A* at A Level and 85% 9–6 at GCSE, you will be part of a school with strong academic foundations and a community that takes pride in both excellence and compassion.

Taaleem provides a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes a tax-free salary, medical insurance, and an annual flight allowance. For international staff, we offer excellent, purpose-built accommodations with various facilities and amenities, while locally established staff receive an attractive housing rental allowance. As part of the Taaleem Group, you will also enjoy corporate discounts with numerous service providers in Dubai.

Beyond the benefits, the well-being of both students and staff is central to our ethos at DBS Emirates Hills. We understand that exceptional teaching is possible only when the personal and professional needs of our educators are met. By becoming a part of the DBS Emirates Hills community, you can expect a warm welcome and ongoing support from the moment you arrive.

Once appointed, our HR team will stay connected, offering group and individual Q&As, along with a staff buddy or mentor who will assist with any questions you may have about school life or living abroad.

Upon joining us, our INSET program, tailored for new staff, will help you acclimatize to life in Dubai (if you are new to the UAE) and familiarize you with our school-specific policies and practices in a smaller group setting alongside senior leaders. Returning staff will partake in an induction for the new school year.

Our vibrant in-school social committee presents numerous opportunities for forming strong relationships across academic teams while engaging in shared interests like dog walking, attending shows, playing sports, or enjoying a Sunday lunch together. These activities are organized monthly and are open to all staff, both new and returning.

Our customized DBSEH standards provide a framework for professional support and challenge. By promoting staff agency, you will take control of your professional learning, selecting the pathway to excellence through coaching conversations with a leader, whether through self-directed learning projects or formal accredited routes such as the NPQ suite of qualifications, funded by the school.
