About This Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher at Hunter Hall School.

We seek a dynamic educator to teach our mixed-aged Year 1 and 2 class, delivering a high-quality education that embodies the school’s philosophy of rigorous academics intertwined with creative, experiential learning within a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere.

The ideal candidate will implement a balanced approach to learning that includes both adult-led and child-initiated activities, utilizing play as a crucial tool for exploration, discovery, and skill enhancement. They will tailor learning experiences to cater to the diverse needs, interests, and developmental stages of each child.

At Hunter Hall, we prioritize relationships. We believe that children who feel happy and have a genuine sense of belonging will thrive in all their endeavors, which is why we cultivate an environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported. Through kindness, empathy, and shared principles, our goal is to foster a community built on respect and compassion.

We also acknowledge the rapidly changing world our children will inherit, thus our focus is on teaching them *how* to think rather than *what* to think. Our progressive curriculum and distinctive Skills for Learning Frameworks highlight transferable skills, creative problem-solving, and interdisciplinary exploration.

In addition to seeking a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher, we are also on the lookout for a Director of Music, and we encourage applications from those who can fulfill both roles.

We offer an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives and to further their career in an innovative school with enthusiastic, confident students and committed, supportive colleagues.
