Capital School Bahrain is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and skilled Teacher of Food Technology to join our growing secondary team.
The successful applicant will teach Food Technology for Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering an engaging and hands-on curriculum that develops students' technical abilities, creativity, and understanding of nutrition, food science, and design principles. Key Responsibilities include:
•
Providing outstanding Food Technology instruction for KS3 and KS4
•
Creating and implementing both practical and theoretical lessons that align with the English National Curriculum
•
Thoroughly preparing students for their GCSE / IGCSE in Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition
•
Managing practical lessons safely, which includes conducting risk assessments and following health & safety guidelines
•
Encouraging significant student progress, engagement, and achievement
•
Maintaining high expectations for behavior, effort, and practical results
•
Collaborating effectively with the Design & Technology faculty and the wider school community
The ideal candidate will possess:
•
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a comparable qualification
•
Specialization or considerable experience in Food Technology / Food Preparation & Nutrition
•
Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and external examination courses
•
Strong skills in practical classroom management and organization
•
A commitment to inclusive practices, safeguarding, and the wellbeing of students
