About This Role

Taylor’s International School, Kuala Lumpur (TISKL) is looking for qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Early Years Leader within our primary school.

TISKL provides a remarkable education grounded in the English national curriculum, enhanced by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and IGCSE courses, all centrally located in the city. Our school serves around 1500 students from over 40 different nationalities, supported by a dedicated local faculty and approximately 10% expatriate teachers. About the position

In this role, you will lead a cohesive team of teachers and teaching assistants, enriching the educational experiences within your year group. The Early Years department currently consists of 2 nursery classes and 4 Reception classes, supported by a team of 13 dedicated educators. As the Early Years Leader, your weekly teaching commitment will be limited, allowing you to focus on guiding the department through mentorship, coaching, and exemplifying best practices. Our school nurtures a vibrant and industrious community of educators who are passionate about their roles and continuously strive for improvement. This position is ideal for teachers looking to advance into leadership within a larger educational environment or for experienced middle leaders seeking a fresh challenge.

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Has experience in an Early Years setting, either in the UK or internationally.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of Early Years practices, such as EYFS, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or IEYC, and is eager to support and enhance our IEYC approach.
  • Is an outstanding classroom teacher, devoted to maintaining high standards and pursuing excellence.
  • Understands the developmental milestones of children aged 0-5, encompassing cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
  • Is enthusiastic and innovative about Early Years education.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering and maintaining a successful team.
  • Can inspire and motivate both staff and children to reach the highest standards.
  • Shows a genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their holistic development.
  • Has prior experience in middle leadership roles, such as leading a subject area or year group.
  • Maintains a positive outlook on innovation and change, showcasing resilience and enjoyment in tackling new challenges.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
