29.58 hours per week (8.45am -3.15pm), 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET)

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, patient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated Inclusion Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence and thrive within a mainstream secondary setting.
About the roleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and fellow support staff to provide tailored support for individual students and small groups, both in lessons and around the wider school environment. You will play a vital role in promoting independence, reinforcing learning and supporting students’ academic, social and emotional development.
The role includes:
- Supporting students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities in mainstream lessons
- Helping students stay focused, motivated and engaged with their learning
- Adapting resources and explanations to meet individual needs
- Supporting students with physical, medical or personal care needs where required
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities, assessments and record keeping
- Contributing to a caring, inclusive and respectful school community

About youWe are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine interest in working with children and young people
- Is calm, caring, patient and positive, with a good sense of humour
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with students and colleagues
- Is adaptable, creative and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Has experience of working with children (this may include parenting or caring roles)
Experience of working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly in a secondary school setting, is desirable but not essential. What matters most is your commitment to inclusion, your willingness to learn and your passion for supporting young people.
