Duties and Responsibilities: In the role of Literacy Catalyst, you will be essential in advancing literacy efforts and engaging a wide range of individuals in reading and writing pursuits. Your collaboration with educators, community organizations, and families will be vital in developing and executing programs that ignite a passion for reading and enhance literacy skills for all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
· Design and execute dynamic literacy programs and workshops suited to different age ranges and reading abilities.
· Partner with schools, libraries, and community groups to promote literacy events and initiatives.
· Offer training and materials for educators, parents, and volunteers to aid in literacy development.
· Perform assessments to determine literacy needs within the community and tailor programs as necessary.
· Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participants to engage in reading and writing.
· Use data and feedback to assess program success and implement improvements as needed.
· Advocate for literacy initiatives in the community and enhance awareness of literacy’s significance.
· Keep up-to-date with the latest literacy research and best practices to continually refine programming.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Education Degree
· Valid Professional “A” Teaching Certificate
· Preferred knowledge of Saulteaux Culture or a willingness to learn
· Strong communication and organizational abilities
· Dedication to innovative and adaptable teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
· Capacity to work collaboratively in a team and connect with the community

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
