SALARY: FROM $46,527 TO $92,027 BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

DURATION: AUGUST TO DECEMBER 2025 (WITH POSSIBILITY OF RENEWAL)

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The aim of the Professional Cooking program is to equip students with the skills needed to enter the professional cooking trade. Aspiring cooks will gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and mindset to effectively prepare the mise en place and plan for service; organize elements for seamless service; adhere to hygiene, food safety, and occupational health standards; properly cook a variety of foods; present dishes according to established standards; prepare, season, and store hors d’oeuvres, soups, meats, fish, vegetables, sauces, desserts, and other food items following specific procedures; and design menus for various meals including table d’hôte menus, à la carte selections, and buffets. The Board retains the right to waive any of the aforementioned qualification criteria if a candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement is found suitable and agrees to follow a training plan set by the Board as a condition of employment.

REQUIREMENTS:
· Proficiency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English, and French);
· Experience in adult education;
· Experience teaching multi-level classes.

ASSETS:
· Familiarity with and teaching of the MEES programs;
· Experience in instructing English and French as a second language;
· Knowledge of the Moodle platform.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Compensation and benefits are in accordance with the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board, ranging from $46,527 to $92,027 per year, contingent on experience and qualifications. Benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task. In addition to salary, potential benefits include:
