About This Role

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and committed Subject Teacher with substantial experience in private or international education. This role involves delivering exceptional instruction, nurturing student growth, and contributing to the school's overarching academic success.

The preferred candidate will have previous teaching experience in an international or private school setting, possess a PGCE, QTS, or a U.S. teaching certificate, and exhibit a strong command of their subject matter. Familiarity with international curricula such as AL, AP, and IGCSE is highly desirable.

Locations Available: Shenzhen, Shanghai

Key Responsibilities

Planning, Teaching, and Class Management
1. Deliver up to 25 lessons each week. Should teaching hours be low, the school may assign additional relevant duties as necessary. Teachers are expected to handle these assignments in a cooperative and professional manner.
2. Provide lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, class observation records, and any other required teaching documentation.
3. Ensure positive student behavior and discipline in the classroom, engaging with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as needed.
4. Strive to continually improve teaching quality and uphold high academic standards.
5. Attend regular academic and school meetings.
6. Carry out assigned evening duties as required.

Tracking, Assessment, Recording, and Reporting
1. Evaluate, monitor, and document student performance and progress, offering constructive feedback and support.
2. Prepare, assign, and grade homework, quizzes, and other assessments.
3. Create and evaluate examinations, analyze results, and compile performance reports.
4. Engage in academic research and attend departmental meetings.
5. Foster positive communication with parents to provide updates on student progress.

Activities
1. Organize and coordinate student events, including open classes, festive performances, and campus decorations.
2. Work with colleagues to co-host and assist with school events as necessary.
3. Mentor and guide students for school-level, national, or international competitions.
4. Lead at least one extracurricular activity or club.
5. Assist during student admissions events and promotional activities.
6. Offer support to the University Counseling Department (e.g., writing recommendation letters, assisting with academic competitions, study tours, etc.).
7. Collaborate with the Pastoral Department to aid in House events, Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) programs, and other initiatives for student development.

Others
1. Complete additional assignments as directed by the Line Manager and Principal.

Required Qualifications & Experience
1. A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in the relevant subject.
3. PGCE, QTS, or U.S. teaching certificate is mandatory.
4. Strong understanding of international curriculum frameworks.
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building abilities.
6. A passion for student-centered education and innovative teaching practices.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
