About This Role

Brighton College Vietnam is seeking to hire a Teacher of Chemistry to become part of our team starting August 2026.

Reporting to: Head of Subject

THE DEPARTMENT

Our Science department comprises six educators and two technicians. It is a welcoming and supportive team focused on nurturing students’ enthusiasm for science through a skills-oriented curriculum that aligns with our Sixth Form offerings. Students begin studying separate sciences from Year 9 and progress to Cambridge International IGCSE, either as individual subjects or in a combined format.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


To serve as an ambassador for the College at all times.


To deliver lessons according to a timetable, fulfill staff duties (as assigned by SLT), and actively engage in the Co-Curricular Programme by leading at least two activities weekly.

Teaching and Learning


To motivate each student to achieve their academic potential through enthusiastic and personalized instruction, tailored challenges, and meticulous record keeping and follow-up.


To be aware of and adhere to all College policies, including those related to marking and assessment, teaching and learning, and reporting.


To develop and share curriculum plans and resources using the established formats.


To assist in covering for colleagues as needed.


To attend all necessary meetings and INSET sessions.


To prepare, invigilate, and evaluate internal and external assessments and examinations as required.

Pastoral


To take an active interest in each child's personal and domestic situation, fostering their personal and social development.


To actively promote the social, moral, and cultural values of the College community.


To cultivate a supportive atmosphere by being aware of and fully complying with all College policies.


To be knowledgeable about all College Health and Safety policies and ensure the ongoing safety of all College community members.


To encourage exemplary behavior and a responsible attitude among all students.


To be informed of and adhere to all policies concerning child safeguarding.

Professional Responsibilities


To instill pride in the College among students through behavior and commitment.


To ensure timely and appropriate responses to all communications.


To contribute to the College website, social media, and publications as needed.


To assist in the College’s Self Evaluation and Development Plan.


To maintain a close partnership with parents, initiating contact when appropriate.


To fulfill any reasonable professional requests made by the Head of College and SLT.
