About This Role
SNA-HCMC seeks a qualified MYP Physical Education Teacher to begin in AUGUST 2026. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 2 years of MYP teaching experience. As we enhance our Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) program, involvement in these activities will be a requirement.
Candidates should note that SNA-HCMC is affiliated with CIS and fully accredited by WASC, placing a high priority on safeguarding and child protection throughout the recruitment process. Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and assess dynamic Physical & Health Education (PHE) lessons that adhere to the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework.
• Create a curriculum that enhances physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle choices while promoting inquiry-based learning and self-reflection.
• Assist students in establishing personal objectives, assessing their performance, and honing Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills such as self-management, collaboration, and critical thinking.
• Foster a secure, nurturing, and inclusive environment where all students are encouraged to grow into well-rounded individuals.
• Evaluate student progress based on MYP criteria, delivering constructive feedback that encourages ongoing development.
• Incorporate global contexts into lessons, enabling students to connect physical activity, well-being, and the broader world.
• Manage and maintain PE equipment, gymnasium, and outdoor areas, ensuring their safe and efficient use.
• Encourage the attributes of the IB learner profile (e.g., principled, risk-takers, balanced) through PE instruction and student engagement.
• Contribute to the school community by coaching sports teams, participating in inter-school competitions, and leading extracurricular activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines to promote a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to student education.
• Engage in continuous professional growth related to IB MYP, physical education, and effective teaching practices.
Qualifications and requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• A valid teaching license or certification is mandatory.
• Comprehensive understanding of the IB MYP frameworks and inquiry-based teaching methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students with diverse needs.
• Strong skills in classroom management and student oversight.
• Proficient in incorporating technology and digital resources into instructional practices.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Creative, cooperative, and proactive in enhancing school life and CCAs.
• Dedicated to child safeguarding and capable of providing valid background checks.
• Open to participating in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
The compensation package is highly competitive and includes:
