We are on the lookout for a passionate and effective Teacher of English and Drama to join our team in the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching both English and Drama, with flexibility in the specific teaching levels based on their expertise, which may include iGCSE level instruction in one or both subjects. A strong ability to teach English at Key Stage 3 is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Deliver well-structured and inspiring English and Drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and iGCSE, in accordance with curriculum and overall academic expectations of the school.


Encourage critical thinking, creativity, performance abilities, and an appreciation for literature and drama among students.


Thoroughly prepare students for both internal and external assessments, including the requirements for iGCSE.


Assess, monitor, and accurately report on student progress, ensuring high academic standards are upheld.


Contribute to the development of the curriculum and the continuous enhancement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment practices.


Collaborate with colleagues in the English and Drama Departments, fostering strong pedagogy and ongoing professional development.


Implement inclusive teaching strategies that cater to students of all abilities, including those with diverse learning requirements.


Enhance the co-curricular program through drama productions, performances, literary clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities.


Play a role in the pastoral care of students, promoting wellbeing, resilience, and a lasting appreciation for literature and performance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A recognized teaching qualification along with a degree in English, Drama, or a closely related field.


Experience in teaching English and Drama, preferably at Key Stage 3 and iGCSE levels.


Strong subject knowledge coupled with a passion for inspiring students in literature, communication, and the performing arts.


Exceptional organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.


A reflective and innovative approach with a commitment to ongoing professional growth.


Experience in an international school setting or familiarity with international curricula is highly desirable.

Compensation
