About This Role

Job Overview: Founded in 2015, Anne Hill International offers international education to students aged 2-13, with plans to broaden its secondary school campus in the near future. Our mission is to deliver affordable, high-quality international education, while our vision focuses on nurturing well-rounded, globally-minded, lifelong learners.

Currently, our school serves around 350 students from 30 different nations, supported by a dedicated team of 30 teachers from diverse backgrounds.

We are set to launch our secondary school campus in August 2026, introducing a new curriculum grounded in the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and Cambridge Lower Secondary, leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). The institution is affiliated with the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a Teacher of Design Technology for Year 7 through Year 10, who can establish and enhance initiatives within a developing program. While experience with IMYC and IGCSE is preferred, it is not mandatory.

All faculty members are expected to contribute to the pastoral/homeroom curriculum and engage in after-school activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Subject Teachers will oversee the academic development and pastoral care of their students in line with the school’s Guiding Statements, curriculum, and policies.

1. Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

• Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student motivation, supports risk-taking in learning, and builds confidence.

• Develop lessons with clear objectives that promote active engagement, independence, collaboration, and interdisciplinary connections.

• Maintain high expectations through strong relationships and inclusive practices.

2. Foster ongoing progress and outcomes for all students.

• Understand student needs to tailor learning experiences by sequencing the curriculum and leveraging prior knowledge.

• Encourage student reflection, responsibility, and a conscientious approach to independent work and study.

3. Exhibit excellent subject and curriculum knowledge.

• Create learning opportunities that reinforce concepts, ignite interest, and challenge students.

• Continuously enhance professional expertise through ongoing development, focusing on classroom practices that prioritize literacy, numeracy, and scholarship.

4. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.

• Design and implement purposeful lessons that cater to diverse student needs, incorporating clear objectives, constructive feedback, and evidence-based strategies that facilitate progress.

• Establish positive relationships in the classroom and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive, student-centered approach that promotes both learning and wellbeing.

5. Adapt teaching to meet the strengths and needs of students.

• Work with students to set clear, meaningful goals and adjust lessons to meet individual requirements using various strategies including differentiation, questioning, active learning, and technology.

• Use assessment, feedback, and reflection to inform teaching practices, support progress, and cultivate an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and challenged.

6. Utilize assessment effectively.

• Regularly assess student learning through various methods, offering clear feedback that aids improvement and progress.

• Consistently use assessment data to inform teaching strategies, guide planning, and help all students reach their potential.

7. Ensure quality provision.

• Communicate effectively with parents, providing clear feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and utilize resources tailored to student needs, involving support staff in planning and instruction.

• Manage time efficiently and conduct academic reporting responsibly through updates, reports, and parent meetings to accurately reflect student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• A University/College degree, ideally in the relevant subject area.

• PGCE or equivalent qualification.

• Three years of relevant experience is preferred but not essential.

• A proven ability to support students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs (e.g., English as an Additional Language, Special Educational Needs, and Disabilities).

Salary and Benefits

Salaries are determined by qualifications and experience, providing a comfortable living in Vietnam. AHI also offers:

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
