About This Role
Required Secondary Science Teacher (Physics)
Commencing August 2026
Ardingly Astana welcomed its inaugural cohort of students in September 2024. In its first operational year, the school served primary pupils from years 1 to 6. The first phase of the secondary school (Years 7-9) has now been launched.
As we prepare to grow into a two-form entry institution and transition to our purpose-built facility in August 2026, we are on the lookout for outstanding candidates who possess the experience, enthusiasm, and energy to excel as part of our developing team. All educators at Ardingly Astana will play a pivotal role in fostering a warm and nurturing atmosphere where students will cultivate a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and acquire essential skills both in and out of the classroom.
The successful applicant will become part of a dedicated and passionate team of educators who will set the standard for inspirational teaching and adhere to the best practices aligned with Ardingly's high standards, positioning the school among the top international institutions both locally and regionally.
Our mission is to enable each child to enjoy a fulfilling life; to maximize their potential at school; and to be prepared for the world beyond. Central to an Ardingly education is the commitment to ensuring that every child is recognized, valued, and encouraged. Every student possesses a distinct character, a unique set of abilities, and a special contribution to offer. We are dedicated to understanding and nurturing their character, enhancing their skills, acknowledging their contributions, and instilling the values, personal qualities, and competencies necessary to thrive beyond Ardingly.
Applications should be submitted via the TES application portal.
Candidates who are shortlisted will need to complete the Ardingly application form, providing the names and contact information for two professional referees (including your current or most recent headteacher if you have teaching experience in a school setting).
Please be advised that the school will only consider applicants who hold formal teaching qualifications (QTS or equivalent) and have at least two years of teaching experience.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate:
An educational degree, such as a Bachelor’s in Education or a related area.
A recognized teaching qualification like PGCE, QTS with an Induction Certificate, or its equivalent (the PGCE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree).
A minimum of two years of teaching experience (international experience is beneficial but not essential).
Thorough subject knowledge, with significant experience teaching the British National Curriculum and/or Cambridge.
A commitment to creating a student-centered learning environment.
A dedication to professional development and a collaborative teaching approach.
A proven history of delivering exceptional teaching and learning outcomes.
Willingness to actively engage in extracurricular activities outside regular school hours.
We provide:
A tax-free monthly salary.
Furnished accommodation.
Discounts on school fees for up to two dependents.
An annual flight allowance.
Medical insurance.
The deadline for applications is April 6, 2026.
Early applications are highly encouraged. Interviews may be conducted at any time, and the school retains the right to appoint an exceptional candidate before the closing date.
Ardingly Astana is devoted to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare. Applicants must be prepared to undergo enhanced child protection screening, which includes checks with previous employers.
Location
The location is truly exceptional, akin to a hidden gem awaiting exploration. Astana features modern architecture, a vibrant lifestyle, and a flourishing economy. Its architectural designs are strikingly unique, distinguishing it from numerous cities worldwide. There is a wide array of cafes, bars, and restaurants catering to diverse tastes, alongside fine dining options, lively nightlife, opera, and museums. The local population is known for their friendliness and hospitality, often exceeding expectations. Kazakhstan's climate is characteristically continental and arid, offering pleasant summers and chilly winters. Just a three-hour drive from Astana's city center, Burabay National Park, often referred to as the Switzerland of Kazakhstan or the Pearl of the Great Steppe, invites visitors with its breathtaking beauty. Kazakhstan is home to many other remarkable destinations as well. Astana can be surprisingly affordable, comparable to many cities in South America and Eastern Europe. The city also offers opportunities for international travel, serving as an excellent gateway to the undiscovered wonders of this unique region.
