SNA-HCMC is seeking a qualified IB TEACHER LIBRARIAN to begin their role in AUGUST 2026. Applicants must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Job Overview:
The School Librarian serves as an information manager, possessing a comprehensive understanding of teaching and the resources essential for both teachers and students. This role combines insights into the curriculum, pedagogical strategies, inquiry approaches, and learning styles with expertise in resource management, information services, personnel management, and information access systems, including technology. The IB School Librarian plays a proactive role in curriculum development, support, and execution. Collaborating with the Education, Research, and Pedagogy Council (ERPC), teachers, and students in the design, planning, exploration, and evaluation of units while promoting an inquiry-based learning approach is a vital aspect of this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the development of the collection (both print and digital) for the IB Curriculum in support of school stakeholders.
• Host reading sessions tailored to specific subject needs.
• Establish a library environment where users can access the right information at the right time.
• Foster reading habits among students.
• Coordinate Book Weeks across the school, inviting literacy coaches and authors, and organizing MYP exhibitions to celebrate the event.
• Ensure that students and staff effectively utilize ideas and knowledge.
• Cultivate a passion for learning and guarantee equitable access to information.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to design and implement lessons that integrate library research components.
• Assist in supporting IB culminating projects in conjunction with project coordinators.
• Plan and deliver weekly PYP lessons based on Units of Inquiry (UOI).
• Organize Academic Integrity sessions with teachers in classroom environments.
• Supervise Personal Projects.
• Oversee Extended Essays for the Diploma Program.
• Manage library-related co-curricular activities.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Library & Information Science.
• A secondary license or teaching certification such as PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, or a similar qualification is essential.
• A Master’s degree in Education is preferred.
Specialized Requirements:
• Proficiency in managing IB-aligned print and digital resources.
• Capability to align library programs with IB standards and support student projects.
• Experience in organizing comprehensive school events like Book Week and exhibitions.
• Strong ability to deliver lessons and collaborate effectively with educators.
• Competence in multitasking, project oversight, and innovative program design.
