• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Portuguese language and literature, adhering to the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and other international curricula.
• Plan and implement dynamic lessons that accommodate a variety of learning needs, utilizing modern teaching strategies and technology.
• Assess student progress through both formative and summative evaluations, ensuring high academic standards are upheld.
• Provide pastoral care, fostering student well-being and collaborating with the school’s well-being team.
• Promote student participation in extracurricular activities, cultural events, and language-focused projects.
• Assist in curriculum development and initiatives for school improvement.
• Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere with high expectations for behavior and discipline.
• Work together with colleagues to exchange best practices and support professional development objectives.
• Communicate regularly with parents and stakeholders regarding student progress.
• Stay informed about educational advancements and engage in ongoing professional learning.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• A relevant degree in Portuguese Language, Literature, or a related field, along with a valid teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Portuguese at the secondary level, preferably with familiarity in the IB curriculum (IBDP) or other international programs.
• The ability to inspire and engage students, nurturing a passion for language and culture.
• Strong capabilities in differentiating instruction for diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Experience in incorporating technology and innovative teaching techniques to enrich learning.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
• A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and student welfare practices.
