ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College School Alicante is looking for a passionate and dynamic English Teacher to join our middle school faculty. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality English instruction to KS3 students, fostering strong literacy skills, creativity, and confidence in a supportive and high-achieving international school setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Design and implement engaging English lessons for KS3, ensuring substantial progress for all learners.


Utilize effective assessment techniques to evaluate student outcomes and inform subsequent learning steps.


Incorporate approaches based on Pie Corbett’s Talk for Writing framework as applicable.


Modify teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs, including those for whom English is an additional language.


Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams to support the overall development of each pupil.


Participate in enrichment activities, extracurricular programs, and contribute to the broader school community.


Actively engage in professional development and reflective practice.


Adopt educational technologies, such as AI, VR, and digital learning tools, to enhance teaching methods.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


Demonstrated experience in teaching English to middle school / KS3 students with evidence of significant impact.


A creative, student-focused approach rooted in Quality First Teaching principles.


A comprehensive understanding of KS3 learning requirements and familiarity with Talk for Writing techniques.


Fluency in English with outstanding spoken, written, and technical communication abilities.


A strong commitment to pastoral care and nurturing the holistic development of students.


A collaborative, positive, and proactive mindset, fully engaging in team and school life.


The capability to adjust teaching methods effectively to support EAL learners.


A passion for ongoing professional development and collaborative peer learning.


A willingness to innovate and incorporate technology to enhance educational experiences.


A drive to contribute to a school recognized as “outstanding in all areas” under the BSO framework.
