About This Role

Responsibilities

1. Teach music courses while adhering to the educational standards and regulatory guidelines set forth by school administration.
2. Present evidence of termly, bi-termly, and weekly lesson planning that caters to the diverse needs of students.
3. Adapt teaching methods to suit varying age groups and skill levels, guiding students with patience and encouraging their curiosity.
4. Assign homework in accordance with school policies.
5. Observe and assess student behavior, relationships, and social growth within the classroom.
6. Collaborate on After-School Clubs (shared responsibility).
7. Engage in the Personal Development program organized by or endorsed by the School.
8. Maintain communication with parents regarding students’ academic progress and development as per school guidelines.
9. Foster positive relationships and effectively promote the facility within both the local and broader community.
10. Actively participate in the School’s Pastoral Care system, serving as a pastoral tutor, which is an expectation for all educators.
11. Assist the Admissions team by providing clear information to prospective families about the School and offering support and reassurance.
12. Represent and advocate for the School at local events as needed.
13. Carry out any reasonable tasks as assigned by the school principal.

Skills and Experience Requirements

1. A bachelor's degree or higher in music education or a related field.
2. Over two years of teaching experience, coupled with a relevant subject Teacher Certificate.
3. Well-versed in the music education curriculum for international schools, possessing a strong knowledge base and skill set.
4. Ideally, having studied abroad and/or experience working in an international school setting in China.
5. Proficient in English in terms of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
