Nestled on a breathtaking 100-acre campus located just south of the historic city of Hyderabad, the Aga Khan Academy is part of a worldwide network of schools that will eventually encompass 18 academies across 14 nations. Under the guidance of His Highness the Aga Khan, our Academy purposefully admits students from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of their financial circumstances. The Position:

Head of Diverse Learning Needs

The ideal applicant will be an inclusive, empathetic, and experienced educator and leader, bringing high expectations, a solid commitment to student support, and creativity to this role. They will comprehend the importance of equity, personalized assistance, teamwork, and innovation, collaborating with the Diverse Learning Needs team to improve student outcomes.

Educators and leaders at the Aga Khan Academy are:

• Engaged in the vibrant residential life of a school community that values and celebrates the diversity of its faculty and students.

Required training and experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or an equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in diversity and inclusion.
• Professional Teaching Qualification.
• At least five years of experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
• Relevant leadership experience.
• Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate and training in inclusive practices.

Required skills:

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency and accuracy in both spoken and written English.
• Technological proficiency that facilitates innovative and effective use of information and communication technology in the classroom.
• Strong organizational skills.

Valued attributes:

• Certification for screening students with specific learning difficulties.
• Willingness to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
