About the role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and creative English Teacher to join our team starting in August 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of the dynamic and collaborative English department within our Secondary section. The secondary school accommodates over 600 students who follow a customized curriculum in Key Stage 3 before advancing to CIE IGCSE and IB Diploma English Language and Literature or English Literature. Each year, some students also enroll in the GCSE ESL and English B Diploma courses.
The English faculty comprises 9 full-time teachers, guided by a Head of Faculty and a Deputy Head of Faculty. Our students are motivated and eager to succeed, with many progressing to esteemed universities. The selection of texts used in our curriculum reflects our dedication to offering a diverse educational experience and addresses relevant issues for our international student population.
We take pride in our commitment to student welfare, and all teachers are expected to contribute to pastoral care, serving as either a form tutor or support tutor.
Essential:
- A degree in English or a related discipline
- A recognized teaching qualification
- Proven experience delivering high-quality teaching across KS3, 4 & 5
- Experience in teaching IB Language B or GCSE English as a Second Language
- A track record of being adaptable, innovative, and compassionate in teaching practices
- Collaborative experience in planning and teamwork
Desirable:
- Experience teaching CIE IGCSE
- Experience teaching IB Diploma at SL or HL
