Our Academic Skills program offers a fantastic chance for students to progress, catch up, or delve into new interests. We welcome students of all genders to partake in remarkable educational experiences, which include immersive credit courses and weeklong programs designed to enhance skills in math, French, and writing, as well as Signature Programs focused on leadership and STEM.

We are looking for a passionate educator to spearhead our week-long Writer’s Toolkit program for students in Grades 9 and 10 this August. In this role, you will deliver a dynamic curriculum aimed at enhancing students’ writing skills across various formats and contexts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Implement Targeted Workshops: Craft engaging sessions that address essay structure, grammar, style, and voice.
  • Facilitate Daily Writing Practice: Guide students through writing exercises to improve their fluency, clarity, and techniques.
  • Offer Personalized Feedback: Review student submissions daily, providing customized guidance based on individual strengths and areas for growth.
  • Promote Peer Collaboration: Organize group activities that encourage shared insights, constructive feedback, and teamwork.
  • Foster Confidence: Assist students in developing a positive mindset, helping them view themselves as capable writers who can articulate their thoughts clearly and purposefully.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Education is mandatory.
  • An Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is required.
  • Intermediate and/or Senior Divisions qualification in English is essential.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite is necessary; familiarity with Brightspace is advantageous.
  • A demonstrable passion for innovation and creativity in education.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to creating inclusive and diverse environments.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.

Compensation
