Currently, the College caters to over 740 students from 46 different nationalities. We provide an internationally adapted British National Curriculum from Early Years through Year 9, deliver the IGCSE program in Years 10 and 11, and offer the IB Diploma Programme for Years 12 and 13. JOB SUMMARY:

The Teacher of Korean will be responsible for providing outstanding teaching and learning experiences within the Korean department, promoting both academic advancement and personal growth among students throughout the College. This role entails instructing students in Korean language and culture across diverse age groups, contributing significantly to curriculum development, and engaging with the wider school community.

Korean is taught from Year 1 through Year 13. Students in Years 1 to 4 participate in a specially crafted Korean Studies curriculum, while those in Years 5 to 13 can choose between the Korean A or Korean B pathways. Both pathways follow a custom-developed curriculum for Years 5 to 11, leading to the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12 and 13.

The successful candidate will join the College during an exciting time of growth in Korean language offerings. They will work collaboratively with other educators to further develop the Korean curriculum and its pathways. More details about this position can be found in the attached Job Description.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A relevant degree, along with a PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience
  • A deep passion for education and a commitment to the holistic development of children
  • A high level of professionalism and a focus on student well-being
  • Recent and active involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of their role, gender, age, or ethnic background
  • A constructive and solution-focused approach to professional life.

A degree in Korean Language and/or Literature is preferred, and experience teaching Korean to primary students in an international school context is an asset.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
