About This Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Teacher (Enhanced Curriculum & KS3 Support) to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA).

This is a permanent, full time role on Teaching terms MPS-UPS starting September 2026. This role also attracts a TLR2.1 with a value of £3,527.

We’re looking for:

  • A passionate and adaptable Primary-trained teacher with experience or strong interest in supporting learners at Key Stage 3.
  • Someone confident delivering a broad, multi-subject curriculum, with a particular strength in English and supporting reading and comprehension development.
  • A practitioner with a strong understanding of strategies to raise attainment, particularly for students with lower literacy levels.
  • An individual with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who can adapt teaching to meet a range of needs.
  • A proactive team player who can build strong relationships with students, staff, and families to support successful transition from primary to secondary education.
  • Someone organised and motivated, with the ability to take on additional responsibilities linked to SEN support and enhanced provision.

Main purpose of the job:

  • To deliver high-quality teaching across a range of subjects within an enhanced curriculum provision, primarily supporting Key Stage 3 students (Year 7 and Year 8).
  • To support students transitioning from primary to secondary school, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
  • To raise student attainment, with a key focus on improving reading, comprehension, and core learning skills.
  • To plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with SEN.
  • To take on additional responsibility for supporting SEN provision within the enhanced curriculum group, working closely with the SENCO and wider team.
  • To monitor, assess, and track student progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions.
  • To contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment that enables all students to succeed.
