Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree
- A valid teaching certificate recognized by Nunavut, or eligibility for certification in Nunavut (Internationally educated teachers who do not possess a Canadian teaching certificate must have their credentials evaluated through Pathways To Teach Canada)

Language and Cultural Assets
- Proficiency in Inuktitut (both spoken and written).
- Experience with Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit-based education.
- Background in bilingual or ESL teaching environments.
- Experience in cross-cultural or northern Canadian educational settings.
Teaching Practice & Classroom Environment
- Experience in differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching methods.
- Training or experience in evidence-based literacy development.
- Familiarity with contemporary assessment strategies to guide student learning.
- Proven ability to foster a positive classroom environment using various management techniques (e.g., Restitution, Tribes, Positive Effective Behavior Supports).
Relationships & Student Engagement
- Experience in building respectful relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members.
- Proven ability to support student wellbeing and engagement.
- Experience in engaging with students outside the classroom in suitable contexts.
Collaboration & Professional Practice
- Experience in collaboratively planning instruction and supporting students.
