Teacher of Geography

ROLE SUMMARY:

King's College School, Cascais, part of the prestigious Inspired Education Group, is a leading international institution located in the Lisbon area. We offer a well-rounded education through the Cambridge International curriculum up to Year 10, in addition to a bilingual Portuguese-English program for students up to Year 5. We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified Geography Teacher to join our Senior School team. The ideal candidate will design engaging, concept-driven lessons that promote a solid understanding of geography, analytical skills, and global awareness. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver engaging and structured Geography lessons that foster a strong foundation in geographical knowledge, critical thinking, and awareness of global challenges.
• Develop and implement high-quality schemes of work that align with the Cambridge curriculum and school standards.
• Assess, monitor, and communicate student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to support academic development.
• Create an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment that encourages and motivates every student.
• Utilize digital tools and resources to enrich learning, research, and geographical inquiry.
• Contribute to the pastoral care of students, enhancing their overall well-being.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure curriculum coherence.
• Participate in school events, field trips, clubs, and enrichment activities, becoming a vital part of the broader school community.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A recognized teaching qualification alongside a degree in Geography or a closely related field.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Geography and global education.
• Proven excellent classroom practice with the ability to support and challenge students of all abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and a dedication to upholding high academic standards.
• A positive, adaptable attitude and a readiness to embrace innovation and continuous professional development.
• Experience with Cambridge programs or international curricula is highly desirable.
