KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in English Language and Literature, in line with the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and other international curricula.
  • Create and implement dynamic lessons catering to various learning needs, employing modern teaching strategies and technology.
  • Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, maintaining high academic standards.
  • Provide pastoral care, promoting student well-being and collaborating with the school’s well-being team.
  • Encourage student involvement in extracurricular activities, cultural events, and language-focused initiatives.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and initiatives designed to enhance the school.
  • Cultivate a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behavior and discipline.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and support professional development goals.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents and stakeholders regarding student achievements.
  • Stay updated on educational advancements and engage in continuous professional development.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A relevant degree in English Language, Literature, or a related field, along with a valid teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English, ideally with knowledge of the IB curriculum (IBDP) or other international programs.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a love for language and literature.
  • Strong skills in differentiating instruction to accommodate diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Experience utilizing technology and innovative teaching techniques to enhance the learning experience.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and student welfare practices.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
