The Role

• Curriculum Excellence: Deliver stimulating and effective instruction in English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and the Cambridge (CAIE) IGCSE curriculum.
• A-Level Specialism: Inspire and mentor our Sixth Form students as they embark on the demanding two-year British A-Level program, preparing them for future studies at prestigious international universities.
• Interdisciplinary Contribution: At BWIC, we value adaptability. The ability or willingness to provide teaching support in additional subjects—such as Drama, Psychology, or History—would be a significant advantage and contribute to a dynamic and varied timetable.
• Extra-Curricular Impact: Beyond the classroom, you will be encouraged to participate in a vibrant range of activities, including the Debate Club, School Magazine, Creative Writing workshops, Yearbook, or National Speech competitions.
• Community Engagement: Contribute to nurturing the "extended family" atmosphere at BWIC by participating in school-wide events and supporting the personal development of our 195 students.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Educator: Holds a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) along with a degree in English Literature, Language, or a related field.
• Versatile Academic: Although English is the primary focus, we invite applicants who possess the ability to teach across various disciplines (e.g., Humanities or Performing Arts).
• A-Level Experience: Proven experience in teaching English at A-Level is highly desirable, with a successful track record of helping students achieve outstanding examination results.
• CAIE Experience: Familiarity with the Cambridge International (IGCSE & A-Level) framework is a plus but not required; we appreciate a commitment to high standards and professional adaptability.
