ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Teacher of English and Drama to join our faculty for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will possess experience in teaching both English and Drama, with the flexibility to instruct at various levels depending on their expertise, potentially including iGCSE instruction in either or both subjects. A strong capability to teach English at Key Stage 3 is essential.

In this position, you will design dynamic lessons that promote creativity, effective communication, critical thinking, and a passion for literature and performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Deliver engaging and structured English and Drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and iGCSE, in line with the curriculum and overall academic standards of the institution.


Promote critical thinking, creativity, performance skills, and a love for literature and drama among students.


Thoroughly prepare students for both internal and external evaluations, including the requirements for iGCSE.


Assess, monitor, and accurately report on student progress, ensuring high academic standards are consistently maintained.


Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing enhancement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment methodologies.


Collaborate with peers in the English and Drama Departments to foster effective pedagogy and continuous professional development.


Utilize inclusive teaching practices that accommodate students of varying abilities, including those with diverse learning needs.


Enhance the co-curricular program through drama productions, performances, literary clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities.


Participate in the pastoral care of students, fostering wellbeing, resilience, and a lasting appreciation for literature and performance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A recognized teaching qualification paired with a degree in English, Drama, or a closely related discipline.


Experience teaching English and Drama, ideally at Key Stage 3 and iGCSE levels.


Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in literature, communication, and the performing arts.


Outstanding organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities.


A reflective and innovative mindset with a dedication to continuous professional development.


Experience in an international school environment or familiarity with international curricula is highly desirable.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
