About This Role

ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College School, Cascais is seeking a passionate and committed Pre-Engineering and STEAM Teacher + Monitor to join our Summer Camps team. The successful candidate will take charge of guiding students aged 9 and older in constructing a Bufori EViE Kart while leading engaging STEAM project-based learning initiatives.

The program consists of two 2-week sessions over a 4-week period, scheduled from 24 June to 25 July 2026. Beyond teaching responsibilities, this role involves monitoring student welfare, which includes supporting evening activities and excursions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Deliver dynamic, hands-on pre-engineering and STEAM workshops for students aged 9 and up, including supervising the assembly of the Bufori EViE Kart and engaging with STEAM project kits.


Design, develop, and adapt lesson plans and learning objectives (to be communicated to parents), working closely with the program coordinator to structure each 2-week session.


Tailor instruction to meet diverse skill levels, evaluate students' technological design skills, and offer constructive feedback.


Ensure the wellbeing of students (10–15 aged 9–17), fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive atmosphere while also aiding evening activities.


Complete required safeguarding training/modules, comply with camp policies and schedules, and uphold health and safety protocols.


Participate in staff duty rotations (including breaks/meals, pool supervision, night monitoring) and assist with excursions, airport transfers, and staff meetings as needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A degree in engineering, computer science, or new technologies.


A strong foundation in engineering and STEAM.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Previous experience in curriculum delivery (preferred).


Must be at least 19 years of age.


English native speaker level (Advanced/Proficiency C1–C2) (required).


Valid authorization to work in the EU.


Criminal record certificate dated within the last 3 months.


CV with a photo placed in the upper right-hand corner.


Scanned copies of degrees and certifications.


Two reference letters.


Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks effectively.


Creativity and an ability to inspire innovation.


Strong collaboration and communication skills.


Capacity to work independently, be self-motivated, and meet deadlines.

Compensation

• Salary: Euros 1800 gross for the whole period. • Included: accommodation, meals, accident insurance • Day Off: 3 mornings a week, Saturday afternoon and Sunday
