About This Role
Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)
We are seeking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team in August 2026. The successful applicant will be instrumental in advancing our inclusion initiatives, working closely with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, senior leadership, teaching staff, and support teams to provide exceptional support to all students.
Key responsibilities include:
•
Supporting the leadership and management of the Inclusion Team
•
Designing and executing high-quality professional development programs for Learning Support Assistants
•
Assisting the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion with strategic planning
•
Overseeing the development and evaluation of Individual Education Plans
•
Coordinating assessment processes for students with additional needs
•
Assessing and enhancing inclusive teaching strategies through learning walks, book reviews, and environment evaluations
•
Managing the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of LSAs
•
Leading Continuous Professional Development (CPD) efforts to improve school-wide inclusive practices
The ideal candidate will have:
•
A recognized British teaching qualification and QTS
•
A recognized SENCO qualification or be in the process of obtaining it
•
Proven experience in driving inclusion in a primary school setting
•
A deep understanding of contemporary best practices in SEND and inclusive education
•
Experience in supervising and developing support staff teams
•
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
•
A commitment to the values and mission of Kings’ School Dubai
