Primary EAL Teacher

Newton International Academy, Smash Campus, is a distinguished international institution situated in Qatar, which earned a “Good” rating from the BSO in March 2024 and received accreditation from the QNSA in April 2024. The academy follows the English National Curriculum and serves a multicultural student population representing more than 70 nationalities. It is a part of the Newton Group, a well-established network of nine international schools in Qatar.

For the academic year 2026/2027, we are seeking a dedicated, creative, and adaptable Primary EAL Teacher. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, demonstrate strong collaborative skills, and show a genuine commitment to supporting students for whom English is an Additional Language.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support to EAL learners throughout the Primary phase through targeted interventions and in-class assistance.
• Work in close partnership with class teachers to develop, implement, and adapt lessons that cater to the linguistic needs of EAL students.
• Assess students’ proficiency in English and monitor their progress through suitable assessment techniques.
• Create and apply effective strategies to promote language acquisition across various subjects.
• Offer guidance and training to staff on EAL best practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Engage with parents to enhance students’ language development and their integration within the school community.

Qualifications:
• A degree in Education, with preferred additional qualifications or certifications in EAL/TESOL.
• Proven experience as an EAL Teacher, particularly in an international or multicultural educational environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, capable of working effectively in a diverse team.
• A comprehensive understanding of the English National Curriculum and methods to foster language development.
