We are pleased to announce an opportunity for an outstanding Secondary PE Teacher with expertise in Academic PE to join our team, commencing in August 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Located in Al Barsha South, Dubai Heights Academy opened its doors in 2017. We offer an inclusive, dynamic, and high-quality education to a diverse international student community from FS1 through Year 12 (2025-2026), with plans for organic expansion to Year 13.

Our modern campus features dedicated buildings for each educational phase, a 380-seat auditorium, and three temperature-controlled swimming pools. We also boast fully-equipped science and computer labs, specialized spaces for art, design technology, music, and drama, a library, two multipurpose sports halls, a full-sized football pitch, various outdoor recreational areas, and a spacious canteen. Our expansive 292,000 sqft campus includes three buildings designated for different educational phases, and we are excited to announce the opening of our new secondary building in August 2025, marking a significant milestone in our development.

Dubai Heights Academy adheres to the National Curriculum for England, tailored to meet local needs and supplemented with Arabic language, Islamic Studies, Moral Education, and Social Studies. We have partnered with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to develop a specialized AI (artificial intelligence) project-based program for secondary students, along with an early language initiative that employs social robots in our Primary curriculum, enhancing our educational offerings.

Job Overview

Dubai Heights Academy is in search of a dynamic and knowledgeable teacher who has a robust understanding of the National Curriculum for England and is dedicated to enhancing student achievement and progress.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

  • A B.Ed. or a degree combined with a PGCE / PGDE or equivalent, demonstrating excellent subject knowledge.
  • At least 3 years of experience with the National Curriculum for England.
  • Significant experience in delivering examination Physical Education programs, including GCSE, A Level, and/or BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
  • Coaching qualifications in one or more of the following areas.

The successful candidate will possess (or be working towards) relevant Level 2 qualifications or higher in various primary physical education disciplines, which may include:

  • Athletics – Level 2 (or equivalent), with experience in teaching track and field basics at primary levels.
  • Basketball – Level 2 / Level 3 (or equivalent) certification.
  • Cricket – Level 2 (or equivalent ECB qualification) or higher, with experience in teaching fundamental batting, bowling, and fielding skills at primary levels.
  • Dance – Relevant Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification, experienced in both creative and curriculum dance instruction.
  • Football – Level 2 (or equivalent) or higher.
  • Gymnastics – Level 2 (or equivalent), with experience in teaching floor work, apparatus use, and fundamental movement patterns.
  • Hockey – Level 2 (or above).
  • Netball – Level 2 (or higher National Governing Body qualification).
  • Rounders – Level 2 (or above).
  • Rugby – Level 2 (or equivalent RFU qualification) or above, with experience in delivering tag and contact fundamentals appropriate for primary-age students.
  • Swimming – Minimum Swim England Level 2 qualification, with proven ability to lead swimming sessions for primary-aged children.

Compensation
