About This Role

Join the dynamic community at Ntare Louisenlund International School, situated in the lively center of Rwanda!

We are seeking a dedicated and visionary MYP Humanities Language and Literature Teacher to join our growing boarding school family. If you are committed to inquiry-based education, conceptual learning, and helping students understand mathematics as a vital tool for interpreting the world, we are excited to hear from you.

This is a full-time position focusing on teaching Design as part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP).

Why Ntare Louisenlund?
Located in the scenic and culturally rich Bugesera District of Rwanda, Ntare Louisenlund offers a supportive and innovative environment where creativity, innovation, and student empowerment are at the forefront of the educational experience. Our state-of-the-art campus is designed to foster excellence among both students and educators within a modern, holistic setting.

Please note: Although IB MYP certification is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite, as comprehensive IB training and professional development will be provided.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As an MYP Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Encouraging students to engage in critical thinking, logical reasoning, and the application of their mathematical knowledge to real-life contexts.

• Guiding students through engaging units centered on conceptual inquiry and global themes.

• Fostering a learning environment that emphasizes collaboration, communication, and creativity while enhancing essential skills.
You will:

• Develop and deliver differentiated lessons using blended, student-focused approaches.

• Incorporate problem-solving, modeling, and real-world data into daily lessons.

• Utilize the GRASPS framework for authentic summative assessment tasks.

• Assist students in self-reflection, self-regulation, and academic responsibility.

• Collaborate with a motivated student body, primarily composed of nationally selected scholarship recipients, providing a unique opportunity to impact exceptional learners in meaningful ways.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for educators who:

• Are reflective, collaborative, and forward-thinking.

• Believe all students can achieve a deep understanding of mathematics.

• Value inquiry, possess a growth mindset, and implement innovative teaching methods.

• Thrive in a startup school setting where they can contribute to the development of the school's vision.
Requirements and Expectations

• A certified teacher with a specialization in Design.

• Experience with IB MYP or a similar concept-based educational framework is preferred.

• Proficient in English and able to teach in English as the primary language of instruction.

• Competent in using digital tools for teaching, collaboration, and assessment.

• Dedicated to mentoring students and cultivating numerate, confident problem-solvers.

• Willing to engage in ongoing professional development and interdisciplinary planning.

What We Offer

• A thoughtfully crafted, modern campus in one of Africa's most innovative nations.

• Comprehensive IB professional development and opportunities for career advancement.

• A diverse co-curricular program with chances for teacher leadership.

• Cross-cultural collaboration with Stiftung Louisenlund, our German partner institution.

• A mission-driven, collaborative teaching team.

• Competitive salary paid in Rwandan Francs (RWF).
