THE ROLE

Our Middle Years department has played a crucial role in elevating student performance and igniting a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This achievement is attributed to our dedicated staff, their remarkable subject expertise, and the department's innovative use of data and curriculum. The Inclusion department is highly valued by our students for the personalized care and support it offers.

We are currently seeking a creative MYP Counsellor to join our esteemed team starting August 2026.

SKILLS

The ideal applicant will have a successful track record in providing effective counselling and support to students. While experience in the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes is advantageous, we encourage exceptional Student Counsellors from various educational backgrounds to apply. A strong alignment with the IB philosophy and a commitment to the values of the Learner Profile are essential. A genuine passion for working in a diverse and non-selective environment is also crucial. Additionally, candidates should possess:

  • A recognized professional qualification at the degree level, such as a BA, BS, or equivalent in Counselling
  • At least 3 years of experience as a School Counsellor, preferably in an IB curriculum school, though this is not a strict requirement
  • Availability to start in August 2026
  • The experience, character, and educational philosophy to further the educational agenda at this leading GEMS IB World School, which caters to students from over 100 nations
  • The ability to provide outstanding teaching and learning experiences
  • A willingness to work in a top-tier institution with numerous opportunities for professional growth and advancement
