About This Role

* Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
* Effectively deliver the mandated curriculum, showcasing comprehensive and current knowledge of both the curriculum and subject matter.
* Design and implement engaging lessons that inspire students. Develop and utilize suitable materials and classroom settings that accommodate various learning preferences.
* Provide written documentation of lesson planning and preparation upon request. Maintain organized records of curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, and assessment strategies.
* Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
* Instruct assigned students based on their unique needs by applying appropriate teaching methods that cater to diverse student profiles, including late entrants, ESL learners, students with lower academic abilities, and those who are gifted and talented.
* Assign and evaluate coursework. Track and report on the academic development, progress, and achievements of students, using assessments to tailor the curriculum to each student's individual requirements.
* Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing media and technology within the classroom.
* Foster the overall progress and well-being of students while providing educational guidance.
* Engage with external stakeholders, such as Ministry of Education officials, when necessary.
* Take part in appraisal and Performance Management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
* Collaborate with colleagues in crafting and refining teaching materials, resources, course content, and pastoral initiatives.
* Engage in and, where suitable, lead co-curricular and extra-curricular activities within the school. Cultivate positive working relationships through proactive leadership and the sharing of ideas, materials, and experiences.
* Monitor and ensure appropriate student behavior, implementing strategies to promote self-discipline and manage disruptive actions.
* Exemplify and encourage cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.
* Assist in the planning and coordination of school events and activities, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, theatrical performances, and award ceremonies.
* Regularly communicate with and meet parents to promote the GEMS philosophy and core values, keeping them informed about their children's progress while safeguarding the confidentiality of student-related information.
* Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond the typical workday when additional commitment is required.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
