About This Role

GEMS Cambridge International School, Abu Dhabi is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teacher (KS3) to become part of our dynamic educational community starting in August 2026. The ideal applicant will deliver outstanding instruction throughout Key Stage 3, ensuring a seamless transition to IGCSE while nurturing curiosity, deep understanding, and a love for learning. Overall Function and Purpose:

The main goal is to instruct students in alignment with the National Curriculum Framework, under the guidance of the relevant educational authority.

You will teach and evaluate your assigned students based on their individual educational needs while delivering the appropriate curriculum, ensuring academic excellence for each learner. Furthermore, you will positively contribute to the broader school community.

Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver the designated curriculum while staying current with subject matter and curriculum standards.

• Ensure a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment that enhances student success.

• Plan, prepare, and conduct lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students in your class.

• Teach in line with the specific educational needs, abilities, and achievements of individual students and groups.

• Actively contribute to the implementation of the school's development plan.

• Assign, grade, and assess student work, following the school’s marking policy.

• Set high expectations for every student in your class, guiding them to reach their potential while maintaining high standards in their work.

• Assess, document, and report on students’ progress, development, achievements, and behavior.

• Use data analysis to adapt classroom practices, ensuring all learners reach their highest potential.

• Contribute to verbal and written assessments, reports, and references for individual or groups of students.

• Engage in national frameworks for evaluating student performance.

• Support the overall progress and well-being of individual students or groups assigned to you.

• Provide guidance to students on educational and social matters, including further education and goal setting.

• Maintain open and effective communication with other school staff, including those with special responsibilities, as well as parents/guardians.

• Reflect on and assess your teaching strategies, methodologies, and programs in accordance with National Curriculum Framework guidelines to enhance classroom learning.

• Collaborate with the Head of School, Deputy Heads, Assistant Head Teachers, Heads of Years, and fellow teachers to develop curriculum design, instructional materials, and assessment strategies.

• Maintain high standards of professional practice and quality in teaching and learning through effective dialogue and peer review.

• Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities and participate in action research.

• Ensure discipline and order among students, prioritizing their health and safety at all times.

• Report any concerns regarding student safety, whether emotional or physical, to the school's safeguarding officer.

• Attend staff meetings related to the school curriculum or pastoral care to enhance school organization and administration.

• Contribute to the professional development of new and student teachers as coordinated with the Head of School.

• Provide necessary information and advice to designated personnel regarding teaching requisitions and arrangements.

• Ensure the proper handling and use of equipment typically utilized in lessons, overseeing regular maintenance.

• Safeguard your issued laptop, whiteboard pen, and remote control from the beginning of your employment.

• Participate in school and parent assemblies as instructed by the Head of School.

• Attend termly parent meetings as per policy.

• Monitor and document student attendance, following up on absences on the same day.

• Ensure attendance is recorded promptly and accurately each day.

• Collaborate in the effective management, organization, and discipline within the school.

• Foster an environment where teachers perceive themselves as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners.

• Work alongside Learning Support Assistants to create and implement Individual Educational Programmes (IEPs) for students with special educational needs, attending relevant meetings.

• Provide timely schemes and forecasts of work to the Learning Support Assistant to facilitate necessary adaptations for students with individual educational needs.

• Regularly discuss and supervise the tasks performed by the Learning Support Assistant in class.

• For students with significant learning challenges or communication difficulties, ensure that a Contact Book is updated daily with all relevant information, including parents’ signatures.

• Collaborate with specialists and other professionals supporting SEN students.

• Optimize the deployment of a Teacher’s Assistant when applicable.

• Utilize audiovisual technology and innovative methods to enhance high-level learning in the classroom.

• Participate in planning, preparing, and implementing extracurricular activities in accordance with school policy.

• Undertake duties assigned by the Head of Year/Head of School.

• Assist in organizing school events and activities, such as inter-house competitions and prize days.

Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• A degree in education/teaching or a Bachelor's degree with a teaching qualification/license in the subject area.

• Familiarity with ICT tools in educational settings to enhance teaching and learning.

• A dedicated teacher with a strong commitment to education and in-depth knowledge of the relevant subject area.

• Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students and colleagues while contributing to the broader school community.

• A minimum of two years' teaching experience in the relevant subject area or age group.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
