About This Role

As a Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) at St John's CE Primary Academy, part of St Chad’s Academies Trust, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.

The role will initially focus on supporting pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping children develop the foundations for learning, independence and positive relationships. You will work closely with teachers and colleagues to provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, adapting your approach to meet a range of needs, including SEND.

While the initial focus will be within EYFS, the successful candidate may also be required to work across other year groups within the academy, responding flexibly to the needs of pupils and the wider school community.

You will contribute to a calm, respectful and purposeful learning environment built on trust and harmony, where pupils feel safe, valued and confident. Through positive relationships and inclusive practice, you will support pupils' engagement, development and enjoyment of learning.

At St Chad’s, service and community are central to our ethos. You will work as part of a collaborative team, supporting teaching and learning and contributing positively to academy life. You will be encouraged to share ideas, reflect on practice and take pride in supporting children and families.

We are dedicated to colleague wellbeing and professional respect. You will be supported through clear expectations, training opportunities and a culture that values teamwork and care for one another. We welcome applications from candidates who are child-centred, patient and committed to inclusive practice, and who are aligned with our values, regardless of faith background.

The Trust is committed to being a Flexible Employer and welcomes open discussion around flexible working options.
