Job Summary: We are looking for a committed and caring Learning Support Assistant to become part of our team at GEMS Founders School in Dubai. The ideal candidate will engage closely with children with special needs, offering one-on-one or group support to enrich their learning journey and overall growth.
Responsibilities:
Individualized Support:
- Deliver direct, one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN) across various learning settings.
- Execute personalized education and behavior plans under the supervision of the SEN Coordinator or other relevant professionals.
Academic Assistance:
- Help students grasp and complete academic assignments, tailoring materials to align with their unique learning styles and capabilities.
- Work together with teachers to reinforce learning goals and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
Emotional and Behavioral Support:
- Create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere for students with SEN, fostering emotional health and encouraging positive behavior.
- Apply techniques to manage and address challenging behaviors, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Keep lines of communication open with teaching staff, the Inclusion teacher, and other professionals involved in the student's support team.
- Engage in effective daily communication with parents.
Progress Monitoring:
- Maintain thorough records of student progress, accomplishments, and areas needing improvement.
- Partner with Inclusion teachers to evaluate and report on the success of intervention strategies.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate empathy and patience when working with children who have diverse needs.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning preferences.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member in problem-solving situations.
