About This Role

Job Purpose The British Curriculum A Level Law / Sociology Teacher plays a crucial role in providing exceptional instruction in Law and Sociology, allowing students to grasp essential legal principles, social frameworks, and civic duties. This position fosters the enhancement of critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and understanding of both local and global legal and societal systems, consistent with UAE educational standards and the values upheld by the school.

Key Responsibilities
Design, prepare, and execute stimulating and effective lessons in A Level Law and Sociology. Instruct students on fundamental legal concepts, including constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, human rights, and various legal systems (both local and international). Cover Sociology subjects such as socialization, culture, identity, inequality, institutions, and applicable research methods as outlined in the curriculum. Ensure that lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessments are in alignment with the British Curriculum and relevant regulatory standards.

Cultivate students' critical thinking, research abilities, debate skills, and capacity for case analysis. Evaluate, document, and communicate student progress utilizing diverse formative and summative assessment techniques. Prepare students for both internal and external exams, coursework, and presentations. Employ technology and innovative teaching methods to improve learning outcomes.

Maintain precise academic records and engage in reporting cycles. Create a positive learning atmosphere through effective classroom management. Support students' personal, moral, social, and cultural growth in accordance with UAE values.

Engage in effective communication with parents, colleagues, and school leadership regarding student progress and wellbeing. Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and curriculum planning. Contribute to enrichment activities such as debating clubs, Model UN, or initiatives focused on legal awareness when appropriate.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
