About the Role

Bahlool British International School, a leading British international institution located in Baghdad, is seeking qualified, British-trained educators for IGCSE and A Level teaching.

We are excited to announce the initiation of a new Sixth Form (A Level) program and are in search of committed teachers to form this essential team. At the same time, we are dedicated to further enhancing our esteemed IGCSE program, which has consistently achieved excellent outcomes for our students.

Curriculum

Our school follows the Pearson (Edexcel) British Curriculum for both IGCSE and A Level. Familiarity with Pearson/Edexcel specifications is greatly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding teaching for IGCSE and A Level (Pearson / Edexcel)

• Design and prepare lessons that align with Pearson specifications and assessment criteria

• Aid in the creation and development of the new Sixth Form Department

• Participate in curriculum planning, schemes of work, and internal assessments

• Ensure students are thoroughly prepared for external examinations

• Track student progress and provide necessary academic support

• Maintain high standards of classroom management and professionalism

• Collaborate effectively with senior leadership and Sixth Form colleagues

• Take part in staff meetings, training sessions, and Sixth Form projects

Person Specification

• British-trained educator with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area

• Proven experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level

• Strong knowledge of Pearson / Edexcel examination boards

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Enthusiasm for contributing to the new Sixth Form initiative

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a developing team

• Experience in international schools or Sixth Form environments is advantageous but not essential
