About This Role

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Subject Teacher with a strong background in private or international education. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding instruction, fostering student development, and elevating the academic achievements of our institution.

The ideal candidate will have previous teaching experience in either an international or private school context, possess a PGCE, QTS, or U.S. teaching certification, and demonstrate expertise in their subject area. Knowledge of international curricula such as AL, AP, and IGCSE is highly preferred.

Available Locations: Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu

Key Responsibilities

Planning, Teaching, and Class Management

  • Deliver up to 25 lessons each week. In cases where teaching hours fall short, the school may assign additional relevant responsibilities. Teachers should approach these tasks with professionalism and a collaborative spirit.
  • Provide lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, records of class observations, and any other essential teaching documents.
  • Maintain positive student behavior and discipline in the classroom, reaching out to the Senior Leadership Team when necessary.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in teaching quality and maintain elevated academic standards.
  • Participate in regular academic and school meetings.
  • Fulfill assigned evening duties as required.

Tracking, Assessment, Recording, and Reporting

  • Assess, monitor, and track student performance and progress, offering constructive feedback and support.
  • Assign and evaluate homework, quizzes, and various assessments.
  • Prepare and grade exams, analyze results, and generate performance reports.
  • Engage in academic research and departmental meetings.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents to keep them informed about student progress.

Activities

  • Organize and coordinate student activities, including open classes, festive performances, and campus decorations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-host and assist with school events as needed.
  • Train and support students for school-level, national, or international competitions.
  • Lead at least one extracurricular activity or club.
  • Assist with student admissions events and promotional initiatives.
  • Support the University Counseling Department (e.g., writing recommendation letters, facilitating academic competitions, study tours, etc.).
  • Work alongside the Pastoral Department to assist with House events, Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) programs, and other student development activities.

Others

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager and Principal.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in the relevant subject.
  • PGCE, QTS, or U.S. teaching certificate is required.
  • Strong understanding of international curriculum frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • A passion for student-centered education and innovative teaching practices.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
