The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, along with a strong foundation in early childhood development. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Monitors student behavior within the classroom, throughout school grounds, and during educational excursions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops an engaging curriculum aligned with age-appropriate standards, adhering to educational best practices and state and school district regulations.
- Creates and implements individual lesson plans across multiple academic subjects, employing a variety of teaching strategies that accommodate different learning styles.
- Prepares instructional materials for lessons, assignments, and assessments; evaluates, corrects, and grades student work.
- Addresses academic challenges or behavioral issues with students as they arise.
- Tracks students’ progress throughout the academic year and assesses their readiness for middle school.
- Communicates student progress and concerns to parents and, when appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or the principal with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents.
- Ensures safety and security standards are upheld for students, staff, and visitors.
- Maintains necessary documentation for student files, attendance, incident reports, and other critical records.
- Supervises hallways, study periods, and lunchrooms in collaboration with other faculty and staff.
- Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, professional development opportunities, workshops, and other training sessions.
- Remains informed about research, trends, and best practices in elementary education.
- Takes on additional responsibilities, such as sponsoring student activities or organizations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of pedagogy and educational best practices.
- A strong passion for teaching elementary-aged children and the ability to adapt to their developmental needs.
- Ability to design engaging lessons that effectively convey the curriculum, utilizing a range of instructional methods including lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and both individual and group projects.
