The Personal Assistant (PA) to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team) provides high‑level, professional and confidential administrative support, playing a central role in the smooth and effective running of Aldercar High School. Reporting directly to the Headteacher, the post holder supports strategic and day‑to‑day operations through effective organisation, communication and coordination.

Key responsibilities include managing diaries, correspondence, meetings and the school calendar, analysing and presenting information to support decision‑making, and acting as a key point of contact using sound judgement and discretion. The role line manages the office and administration team, overseeing staffing, absence, appraisal and arranging cover to ensure continuity of service.

The post holder holds operational responsibility for information governance and GDPR compliance, including coordinating Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests, and ensuring personal data is managed lawfully and securely. The role also supports and leads effective communication with parents, staff and external stakeholders, and contributes to governance processes and school events.

Safeguarding is a core responsibility of this role. The post holder is expected to uphold and actively promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education and the school’s safeguarding policies. This includes working with professionalism, vigilance and integrity, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to a strong safeguarding culture across the school. All staff are expected to share this commitment and act in the best interests of pupils at all times.

Compensation

£32,347.00 - £34,317.00 Annually (FTE) Grade 9
