About This Role

Bluff School is looking for a new team member to join us on our journey of school improvement. The current position is in a Year 3 class but this could change in 2027 in response to school needs.


You will create a safe and welcoming classroom environment and provide a rich curriculum that meets the current requirements. Formative assessment practices are essential in our environment as we are focused on improving outcomes for students.


We are on a journey together using Te Poha - Matauraka o Murihiku to guide our curriculum development and planning for inquiry. We have recently adopted Numicon as our approach to structured mathematics and are busy bringing together a structured literacy programme that reflects the skills of our teaching and support staff.


Qualifications


You will need:



  • Current New Zealand practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)

  • Knowledge of effective literacy and numeracy teaching practices

  • Understanding of culturally responsive pedagogy and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willingness to engage in collaborative practice and ongoing professional learning
