About This Role
To co-teach two Home Room classes, in conjunction with a Vietnamese colleague, utilizing the Cambridge International Curriculum framework and Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) Curriculum in a bilingual setting.
The teacher will plan and deliver lessons in English for specific Grade 1 subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, STEAM and Library usage. Responsibility will be for two Grade 1 classes, and the teacher will work closely with a Vietnamese colleague who serves as the co-homeroom teacher and is responsible for further instruction in subjects taught in Vietnamese.
Key Responsibilities
Create a well-organised, disciplined and stimulating classroom environment that supports effective learning.
Plan, deliver and assess lessons using best practice, ensuring differentiation and inclusive learning opportunities for students with diverse abilities and learning styles.
Work closely with the designated Vietnamese colleague to share Homeroom responsibilities and support curriculum delivery.
Use assessment and student data to monitor progress, provide feedback to students, and communicate learning outcomes with parents and colleagues.
Maintain accurate lesson planning, records, and contribute to assessment processes, including external assessments when required.
Support student wellbeing through pastoral care, positive behaviour management, and collaboration with the SEND team where appropriate.
Contribute to the wider life of the school through assemblies, duties, meetings, parent conferences, extra-curricular activities, and school events.
Follow school policies, participate in performance management, and contribute positively to the professional culture of the school.
Undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Head of Primary or School Leadership.
Requirements
Teachers need to have QTS, or possess a valid teaching license. The professional teaching qualification must be for the area applied for. For this vacancy the qualification must state ‘qualified to teach the Primary/Elementary age-range’)
In addition to relevant degrees and certificates, successful applicants need to have, or be able to obtain, a university transcript showing courses attended and grades attained. This can be done later.
Applicants must be native speakers of English.
Candidates with a minimum of two years Primary / Elementary experience (post-qualification) are sought.
